Hi diesel smell inside car, fuel pump leaking from somewhere botom, did any one have same problem? How difficult is to remove/change fuel pump. Timing belt for me not problem. LEAKING ONLY THEN COLD. Not much but still..

I've never removed a JTD high pressure fuel pump with the engine in place. I suspect the main problem will be access to get it out from the back of the engine.

You'll need to remove the pulley from the pump. It's on a taper fit, so you'll need to buy or fabricate a puller to remove it.

I have the same problem and only notice it between october and june when cooler. Need to fix it as well but wasn't sure how to.

I'm not sure what it's like on the earlier JTDs (115s etc) and it may well be different but on the later variants (CF4, 150/170s) there was no way of getting the HPFP out with the manifold in place.
