Hi everyone :)
(5 door JTD 8v 115 5 gear)

I have a strange rattle when I turn the car off, its rattling while its turning off not after ... If I press down the clutch while turning it off ... it doesn't rattle..
Dual Mass Flywheel ?
Any suggestions ?
Also I have noticed that there is some metallic hissing sound when driving in gear ... it disappears when it put to neutral while driving..and also there is some knocking at the moment when i release the gas pedal while driving in gear and knocking again when I put my foot on the gas pedal again.. ( cv joint ..or joints of some kind ? )

I've searched all over the forum but I can't come to a conclusion. Any help would be much appreciated.

Possibly your crank pulley causing rattle - rubber vibration damper material separated - four ribe screws hold crank pulley.

Hissing could be holes in turbo trunking.

Thank you very much for yor reply Peat :)
I don't think that it's the crank pulley since I just had timing belt and water pump changed. The mechanic checked all the pulleys and I needed to change only the alternator clutch pulley, the other pulleys were good.
The thing that worries me is that there is no rattle when I press the clutch down...meaning maybe there is something wrong in the gearbox. I was at my mechanic today and he was very busy... but he just checked the car by turning it on and off
with the clutched pressed down and with the clutch up...he said it could be anything in the gearbox ?@?!?
I also noticed today that when "engine braking" in 2-nd and 3-rd gear, the engine shakes, but only sometimes not all the time ?
As for the hissing sound, today I noticed that if I turn the a/c on, I think the noise goes away. Could be the pulley bearing of a/c compressor

My guess would be DMF 99% ...what do you all think ? :)

Cant understand why the mechanic thinks gearbox .. It sounds clutch related so id agree dmf or maybe the plate , is it due a new clutch?

Thank you for replying XB23, I appreciate the help :)

Well I bought the car like two weeks ago, and I don't have any info on the clutch. It's not slipping at all ...I agree about the DMF, but you think the plate could rattle like that ?
There is definitely something wrong with the clutch, because since I bought it, the clutch pedal has no resistance at all, in the top 1/3 of the way down. When I press the pedal in the first 1/3 the pedal is like in the air ( I've bleed the system), then when it reaches somewhere in the middle of the way down, it starts to engage. I shift the gears fine, there's no crunching. The pedal is a little bit hard to press I must admit. Not that hard, but not soft enough like the other cars.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

Thats interesting, so if you bleeed it fully does it seem ok for a few mins? If so might be a dodgy slave cylinder

I had mine replaced 12 months ago, same issue no resistance, got so bad gearbox was still engaged when clutch was fully depressed , kept moving in traffic had to stall the engine lol

No no it's the same all the time. I think eventually I will have to dismantle the clutch and see whats going on in there :)
