Hello me again.. I'm sorry to be a pain to everyone but like all new owners we all want what's best for our cars.
First things first I think I done the right thing buying my car from a garage the only down side is I've got no history to the car and as such I'm wondering if anyone knows a rough price on timing belt and water pump change. Any recommendations to any garages in the Newcastle upon tyne area.
Second I'm having alittle trouble selecting reverse gear with slight crunching untill warmed up I'm guessing gearbox oil and again with no service history I'm guessing its never been done. The car has 93k so I'm guessing I'm right but thought I would ask.
One last thing when driving on the motorway after a while I'm getting a bad brake smell from the rear wheel so I'm guessing its the caliper that's slightly siezed its weird really as half the disk is rusty as if its been stood for weeks but the other half is shiny I'm not sure if I'm making sense but hopefully you get what I mean. Any ideas on how to fix.
I just don't get it the previous owner has oviously looked after the car as I can see loads of white polish in hard to reach places that's not been buffed out. The rear springs look new but with me its got to be perfect. When the weather gets better I will be detailing to car and taking out a few small supermarket dinks and I've got to sort out the mess on the inner doors looks like the previous owner did not like the cream inner doors and decided to spray them black so I will also have to sort that out. Look at me I'm rambling on again sorry.
