A couple of months ago car (Stilo Abarth 2.4 - semi-auto) started dropping into N when slowing down or stopping & getting stuck there. It got progressively worse until totally seized and couldn't move. Local Fiat specialist plugged it in & said there was an electronic selespeed pump error. Contacted dealer, they fitted a different second hand pump off a breaker.

All good, worked fine for 2-3 months, fast forward to now & it's back to getting stuck in N. Only this time it is also jumping from 2nd to N, it's dropping into N even when accelerating, instead of as last time, only doing it when slowing down/coming to a stop. (It still does this too)

Have we been really unlucky and the pump has gone, again, or could something else be causing this? About to scrap this POS as can't afford any £800 bills so any help appreciated.

If a used part then it could unfortunately be the pump again, but could be something else.

Best thing to start off with would be to get it diagnosed to give you a better idea.

Monitoring pressure with a laptop while driving will give clue as to whether it is the pump or perhaps the accumulator if the pressure fluctuating too much.

Took it to indy, pressure was at 25 then jumped up when pump was smacked.

New pump time, again.
