I've had a good scout around, but I can't find a guide for changing the cam belt on the Multijet 150 Stilo. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Is the same engine used on Alfa's so is it worth searching on one of the Alfa forums? I've seen a Vauxhall Mjet engine version on Youtube, but is there anything specifically tricky on the Stilo, compared to that?
I also have to do a belt on my sons JTD Stilo, how different is the Multijet job from that.

some stuff is going to be different for sure but hows this
http://www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/cambelt_change_JTDm_156_GT_147.shtml
not sure why theres no mention but im sure there is timing tools to lock the crank pully and camshafts ?cant confirm as garage did mine.
if I were you id do the water pump for sure, these 16v have a nasty habbit of seizing pump bearings ripping belt off, theres quite a list in alfa forum and some young low milage cars to boot.
a lot of alfa specialists now advise as low as 3 years or 48,000 mile intervals but I only just got mine done at just under 50,000 but over 7 years old.
heres the old thread if you want a read
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa...t-failure-on-the-jtd-16v-and-20v-engines.html
im sure the failure numbers and age/ milage used to be in there, im sure the original poster was asked to edit or remove stuff.
cant say weve seen the same in the fiat side but its all about numbers and I don't remember seeing more than 3 or 4 jtdm 150s on here posting and even in the poll at the top of page theres only 22 listed(how many are same car sold on?)

Thanks for the Alfa links - it seems more straightforward than I was expecting to be honest... I will definitely be replacing the water pump too - it seems daft not to when its right there in front of you!
I need to do a glow plug too, which looks a right pain to get at - I am afraid I've been spoilt the last couple of years working on my Mercedes-engined, veg-oil-drinking Ssanyong 4X4s, where access to everything is so simple as long as you can climb onto the front panel/wings to reach stuff!

the glow plugs were easy as i remember,
just needed a deep socket i think 11mm maybe and the plastic covers that attatch to the glow plugs had a knack of how to be flicked off.
ill double check later for you on socket size as my old plugs are in garage.
i dont remember anything being in the way on the 150's i think the 115 have something over the top of one plug.

Sorry its a 9mm socket
Needs to have at least 30mm depth
My original numbers are
Beru fgp 55187863
548
276010 11v 8811

I replaced with ngk 6092 ye07
Been ok no noticable difference between makes but have heard beru better.

Sorry for the delay, I've been away for a few days. Thanks for the info there - it'll be very useful.
