Wouldn't be nice if we (we == not Abarth owners) could have white dials like the Abarth ones? Well not exactly like the Abarth's but pretty much like them.
Yeah yeah there is a way :D.
Here http://www.carpartstuning.nl/Fiat.htm there are kits made from Birba Racing and there is actually one for the Stilo. Looks nice and also has the 240 number ;).
And here http://members.home.nl/rkers/info/wijzerplaat.htm there are the instructions of replacing the original dials with the white ones. Well if you can read the language that is written. :p Oh if you can feel free to give us some hinds so we can do it too.

The dials look the business but aren't great for UK cars as they only have km/h markings - if they had mph too then I'd order a set now!

Bad news :(. After installing the dials, the pointers (if the engine is off) don't show big 0. See below

The question is, what if my dealer orders a set of original dials that come as standard
with the Abarth5M(17)[?]

or the silver CD facia and the air-conditioner outputs

Does having the needles point to 0 really matter that much? Apart from the speedo, when do the other ever point to 0 except with the engine off?

andrea? Why is that a problem? I think I will second rriggs opinion on that. I guess the dials are in position when you turn on the engine, aren;t they?
And something else since you went through the trouble of dismantling your dash:
Is it easy to change the lamps that illuminate the displays?
I am thinking, it is just a thought, to try and change the colour from orange to blue.

What if you rotate the Dials to Zero if that is possible.
Yes I would like blue dials as well.:)

....and Andreas, why have you got your girlie button switched on? (see middle photo above). Were you having a lazy day? ;)

Actualy i haven't disassembled the dash yet Pantelis. I found some pictures that come with a german spoken howto. I think it all comes to changing the bulbs. If you can find blue same sized bulbs i think it is doable.
The dials Ham cannot be rotated because they have little holes that help you put them correctly. Unless i get a pair of scissors and start playing.
And rriggs those are not pictures of my car. The first pic is from another car which have installed the custom made dials. The second and the third are from the new Abarth5M(17) (not mine either).
Generaly there is no problem for the needls not pointing to 0 but you can see the difference between the first and the second picture above!!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but on the top picture the ignition doesn't appear to be on as the display is only showing the clock and nothing else. On the second picture of the Abarth the ignition is on as it's showing some foreign writing and the 'city' indicator. Maybe if the ignition was switched on then the needle on the top picture would point to 0????

Maybe but can't realy say "jdcotr".
I found these staff on a German site and it all seems Greek to me ( oops that's my first language :D ).
Maybe someone who can read german can help.
I've tried online translators and it's even worse.

yes. This is the case. If you look, when the ignition is off, the dials are like in the first picture. when you switch on the engine, or when you turn the ignition switch to position 1 then the dials move into position.
So, in that sens, there is no need to worry about this matter! Worry when you will start dismantling the dash!! I have done on my 2 previous cars, A toyota celica and a small Subaru. Believe me, there was alwways 1 screw spair at the end!!:D

LOL. Been there, done that Pantelis.
Thanx Andy for the help but using the online translator either for Dutch or German is hopeless. I understood that there are 2 screws on top (i saw them) and another 2 somewhere else (didn't find them yet :)).
The thing is that the factory made white dials (pic 2 above) is much more good looking than this ones (pic 1). I will try and see if my dealer can order a pair or the factory made and then i will try anything :D.

actually, I would be surpised if you had not done this!
I have the imression that the designers/makers of the non factory dials could be restricted by copyright laws. because the only difference they have are the small markings between the thick ones.

Is it just me or did anyone else find the whole "small line, big line, little square" thing on the dials not very clear when they first got their Stilo?

Get used to it though...

Same here, but I sometimes still have to think about it. It should require no brain power to read how fast you are going. Change the dials Fiat!

What's the meaning of changing the dials now Lead. We already bought the car :(
