P0046 turbo charger boost solenoid circuit A. Lack of power above 3000 revs but otherwise ok.
Any idea where the boost solenoid is, and how I change it. It's a Stilo 1.9 jtd..

down at front n/s just follow plastic pipe from turbo.

did the new battery cure the other "clicking relays" issue ?

I would cancel all codes with a reader before investigating anything new,

Yes the new battery worked a treat. I cleared the code and so far it's clear, but this is the same as last time, I expect it to come back as it did before. If I can find the solenoid, I may be able to check it somehow

you may well find your dying battery was causing all kinds of voltage supply issues to various sensors,

Ok the same fault is back again. Not causing a running problem, except the revs top out at 3k in each gear. Plenty enough to use but I would like to clear this problem once and for all.
If I can find the solenoid, I may be able to replace it, test the sensor, or something. I have read posts about water ingress causing it to fail, but I dont think this is the problem, as it still happens in the recent spells of really hot weather.

if you look in stilo guides section of forum they is very usefull item on how to locate boost solenoide valve and move it to a point by battery that is less prone to water damage.

My car has a problem where an engine fault comes on which is the boost solenoid valve. And goes very sluggish, which resembles the old limp home mode.... but, after awhile, ignoring the problem, the car suddenly decides to forget it's got a problem and goes like a rocket. The acceleration is phenominal in comparison. The engine light also clears when you put your foot down. Anybody have any idea what's going on...

wet boost solenoid valve?


could be its wet and failing, that's my guess. Check the help section for re-siting it and see if that helps
