I have a bit of confusion. I have a 52 plate 1.6 Active/Aircon that I bought from Fiat this time last year. It only had 55 miles on it. It is now due for service. My question is which service does it get? Looking at the service stamps, it had the pre-delivery service in 2002 and it's first year/12,000 mile service in March of 2004 when the car had 30 miles on it. I thought it would now need it's 2 year/24,000 mile, since it has not had that yet. When I rang the dealer to book it in, they said that it would need the 3rd year/36,000 mile service, because of the plate year. I can understand that but was just wondering what you all think?

For the record, the car was witheld by Fiat for a year and a half before selling it to me.

Most dealers go by year unless you exceed the millege. They normally say (for example) your "surpposed" to get it serviced every 12,000 miles or every year whichever comes first.

My punto had its 2nd Year Service/24,000 when it only had 10,000 on the clock.

Thanks for that. This could be a grey area in my situation, since the car did no mileage in the time it was first registered until it was a year old. I suppose technically the dealer should have done the second year service this time last year. I'll just let the two dealers involved decide what to do. I'd just rather not have to pay for the third year service at this time, if I can avoid it, but then again, I don't want to screw up my extended warranty.
