Well this is a weird one, I got home today and noticed that the whole unit had come forward by about 10mm, not too sure how long it's been like it but i'm sure i would have noticed before..
Well i pushed the unit back in but it would not click into place, i didn't wanna damage anythin by pushing megga hard but i did push very firmly and then tried to pull it out again and it slid out fairly easy...
I presume that in order for the unit to come out, it would usually be a case of pushing somethin in the 2 slots either side of the cd insert ?
But to come out just by gently pulling the unit is not a good thing.. If i was reversing fast and had to brake sharp, the whole unit would fly out and possibly cause some damage/harm...

Any suggestions before i have to take it to the tossers at my local fiat as i really don't trust them even touching my car. ;)

The problem is, i have never taken it out for any reason, so im presumming it has always been unattached from the day it was made. I had the same thing with the sky window control centre and i had to fix that myself... Maybe i got unlucky and had some divy little kid put my dash together on his first day.. looks like a trip to Fiat tomorrow.

I had exactly this problem Koa - eventually tracked it down to the rubber lug at the back of the unit. When the unit slides out the rubber lug tends to stick to the post on the rear of the SatNav unit, and doesn't line up with the retaining hole at the back of the dash when you slide it in.

What I did was put the rubber lug in the retaining hole first, then slid the SatNav unit in - then hey presto straight in no problems - before that it felt as though it was a couple of mm short of right in.
