The teeth are designed to snap off if the mounting gets hit. Otherwise an impact would stress the mounting, which is part of the engine or gearbox casing. You probably don't want that to snap off instead.

My JTD has a similar "dangly" on it's gearbox casing. I can assure everyone that it also works..

Otherwise I try not to hit the speed bumps. After I "tested" mine, it made me go and investigate what was going on.. the same hump had never given me such a big "hit" before. It turned out that one of my suspension springs was snapped, so the car was a bit softer on the front.

One more question, does the 1.2 has an middle under engine cover? O just the side ones?

just like to say on part 46781891 i have an original FIAT new old stock part for sale on e-bay 20 euro plus postage if you want an original fiat product for your stilo,also have stilo OMP front strut brace,ECU various ,an original rear wheel arch carpeted wheel arch liner,plus other stilo parts if anyone interest pm thanks.

All Stilos had the middle undercover when they left the factory, but many garages "forget" to put them back after working on the car.

the one on my JTD was 'missing', very hard to find a replacement unless you go for the aftermarket ones.

Oh I see... I've never found this on my car, assuming it's used, maybe it got lost on the way to me.
