You may find that you're unable to do any of the adjustments after removing the CN+.

The MODE button in cars originally equipped with a CN+ only does the speed limit warning adjustment, everything else such as adjusting the: date/time, trip functions, key functions, autoclose, units, language, buzzer/button volumes, auto headlamp sensitivity etc. is done from the CN+.

I'm not sure whether all these functions would return to the MODE button when a CN+ is removed. There was a thread some while ago discussing this problem and whether the Proxy Alignment procedure cures it but I don't think it was ever resolved.

Haha, This is for my Dad's stilo. His CN+ has some of the screen missing and the CD drive is knackered, every CD is scrambled and unplayable including map discs. He wants a radio which can play his iPod, fits nicely in the dash, has a CD changer and would still be able to use the steering wheel controls. I figure the cheapest solution would be to get a standard cassette player and a little tape gadget thing with the 3.5mm audio jack attached to it.

I bought a cheap one on ebay the other day, which came with a CD changer. I figured it'd be a straight swap. I realised I'd be unable to change the settings but the clock in his car has been wrong for years as the part of the screen which is missing, is the part where most of the settings buttons are, so it was quite an ordeal to do anything. I always have my CN+ incase he needs to change his settings.

I just didnt take into the consideration the cradle. I'm hoping it will still fit snug. Any ideas?

Regards,

Owen.

No sure, but I think the only difference between the two cradles is the locking mechanism. CN+ only has one locking clip each side and needs two single pins to release it, whereas most radios have two each side and need two double pins.

when you execute a Proxy Alignment procedure with Fiat Ecu Scan it will alter the configuration of your bodycomputer, after that you will be able to change your settings with the buttons on the "my car" panel....
