Ive just had a look and I cant see anything that could be a DPFE
I've been told there are other ways to monitor EGR performance but DPFE seems to be the most common. I'm still trying to find out exactly how, I'll let you know if/when I do.
Edit.
This is a reply I had from a top tuning guy.
A certain amount of airflow through the maf is expected at a certain speed and load, it then takes egr into the calculation and then you have positive and negative deviations being calculated with factors for temperatures, pressures etc. There is also a lot of failure triggers for the dtc handling going on.
The whole control function resembles that of the turbo control, and in each newer ecu family it gets more complicated.
A lot of cars use this method as he remaps ECU's. All tuned diesels have Blanked EGR, Decat and a remap, he has to rewrite the MAPs that control EGR monitoring to allow them to be blanked off or completely removed.
The restrictor plate(Part number - 71751469, bulletin attached below)issued by FIAT had to take into consideration that some of the vehicles the plate would be installed on would have this sort of EGR monitoring system, so the holes in the plate where made as small as possible without restricting the EGR flow so much that it resulted in an error being detected and the EML showing on the dash.
