Hi all, hope we're all safe,
I've been sent over here from the Multipla section, i have a 2010 Multipla 1.9 diesel (apparently this engine has more in common with the Stilo than most multiplas owned by members on that forum) my question, or questions were-
1, Can i blank the EGR off on my engine? someone said i can't, without getting a warning on the dash.
2, If i can blank it off, where do i blank it?
3, If i can't blank it off, should fit a new one? (as i have finally managed to get it off, it's full of ****e and the gasket is missing from between the EGR and the pipe that runs behind the engine)
4, Which EGR do people recommend?

I blanked mine off had no warning lights at all I used a baked bean can lasted about 20,000 miles then and had to replace with a bit thicker steel plate.
Either side of the egr will do just pick the easiest to get to, if you make the plate yourself use the old gasket as a template.
The two Allen bolts are very tight so get a decent set of Allen keys but once you have them undone should be 10 minute job.

Mine was the 115 bhp model. Sold it a couple of years back with 225,000 miles on it and still see it running around. Great car.

Thanks for your reply, this seems to sum up my problem, some people say it will be fine, with no warnings, others say i can't blank it off, what year was your car, i think mine has the 120 bhp engine with a DPF.

It was several years ago now I sold it so memory a bit vague, I think it was a 2006.

The thing is once you have done the blanking and know how to do it, it would take maybe 10 minutes to undo it so worth a go.

Just a thought the Allen bolts might have been torx bolts cant really remember.
