Damn, i feel your pain, you manage to get the cyclist who put you into the predicament?

The shock bent aswell?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but as the law
now stands if you have an accident that involves a
cyclist - even if it was their fault you and your insurance
company are liable for any damage or injury caused.

John

i reckon just number plates, so there is accountability.....

so how would you do it?
no licence is required
so you need a registration for the bikes including all bikes in the country, not just those purchased
what if i buy a frame and build the bike up,do i then have to present it for registration?
etc etc
It would be a complicated system that wouldnt work. incident on a bike, who was riding?

Mate I am gutted for you, what the hell, London is a mad city for cyclists and it must be truly frustrating in having to cope with these two wheel little buggers flying around everywhere, lets hope all is well and all within repairable grounds :)

Dual threads on the same topic are annoying, I suggest a merge....

Sorry to hear about the accident though :(

weren't meant to be dual threads on same thing, the LL one was advice on what to do next WRT the law and money recoup, the Stilo section was a "look at my F***** stilo..." and more technical detail.

i just linked them so that the right convo went in the right place...

i agree, incredibly, dare i say, impossibly difficult to implement, but would be good if there was a way to attach accountability to cyclist...but lets keep the "cyclists are evil" banter to the LL one :)

I can't believe your bad luck mate, you must be so p*ssed off.

A breakers near me has a Stilo in, its 99% complete. Its a JTD but there must be some parts that are compatible with the 1.8

I know the owner so will get you a good price on the parts.

I'll remove the parts and arrange delivery for you.

If your stuck let me know what you need.

yeah was doin about 20, so a fair wallop, i didnt mount the curb, just smashed straight into it, if id've mounted it i would've hit a house :(.....should've said hello, would've been nice to have a few more faces to names...and yes, shell be be back soon, will know by 11am tomorrow exactly what needs doing...im not one for giving up on a car till its literally totalled..

Absolutely gutted for you. i know you did the right thing in swerving to avoid the w****r but i sometimes think if it was me i would at least give them a glancing blow so they "share the pain". He would have seen the damage and know you will be out of pocket.

only thing i can do is offer a pair of front struts and springs if yours is bent. they are off my jtd but in very good condition.

And a pair of jtd wishbones with worn bushes to keep you on the road although best to go through insurance on this one unless damage is only just more than your excess.

i doubt ill ever catch him, just gna concentrate on cost reduction...

thanks for the offer (y) i may be in touch...

unfortunatly im young so a claim on ins would cripple me....and im only TPFT....he was in such a place that hed be with the fishes if i hadnt avoided him...id love to have a sparing session with him...soon show my "displeasure"

Well at least your wheel looks like its still useable. Hagon in hainault can straighten car wheels (i think) if it is bent. Check the inside rim too.

I am pretty sure the 1.8 uses the same parts as the 115jtd. the 150 sporting uses the same as the abarth suspension strut wise.
