Evening Guys and Gals,

Does anyone know for definate if you need some sort of code when you attach a Fiat Blaupunkt multi changer to a single cd player in a stilo. Was thinking of buying one out of my local paper but don't want to if it won't work.
I heard they may be software blocked, what does this mean??

Please help

Cheers :D

There are plenty of threads on this if you search - There are 2 versions of the Blaupunkt changer, the standard after market one, and the fiat variant. Most head units fitted in the Fiats will not work with the standard aftermarket version, there is some subtle modification (presumably software) that makes them incompatible. The multichanger also comes with a PIN code, which I assume is needed when you attach it to the head unit first time - for some reason my SatNav+ didn't seem to require the code when I installed my multichanger!

Hope this helps

Paul

I bought the standard Blaupunkt CD changer which did not work, I then bought the FIAT variant from a FIAT dealer. I just connected it up and it worked without problems. There was a mention somewhere of a code being needed, but I certainly did not need to enter a code.

Mine came fitted with the Blaupunkt changer which didn't work.
The dealer changed it for another one and that did work.
The only outward difference was that the lighting effect around the slots was redder on the original (non-working) changer and the facia plate on the new one seems greyer than the original.
The replacement looks identical to the one that was in my Punto HGT.

Mine asked for a code when i fitted it, only when it was first connected up though. Maybe they've changed it a bit, so it doesn't need the code now? I got my CD-changer nearly a year ago, and obviously the changer was a few months old as it was second hand to me, i got it on ebay for about the same as you! :D
