Hi guys, kinda new to the forum and hopefully someone will know what on earth ahs happened to my car!!
Other than the continuing and now usual faults i get on my now nicknamed "HEAP", like loose connection and engine fault, i had another one crop up the other day which is really annoying me now.
For some unknown reason both electric windows have stopped working. Having downloaded the manual and checked just about every fuse i can see its not the fuses!
I have also trawled the forum for a similar thread but no luck.

All the lights on the buttons on the driver door panel are on, i can still adjust the electric mirrors and have tried the usual cleaning the door connector but all to no avail. :bang:

Could it be a problem with a relay where every that might be located or a computer fault!!!

Also it might be nothing but the driver side headlight has died, but i couldn't be sure if it was as the same time but they were only all replaced a couple of months ago....(i should really replace it).

Any help would be very much appreaciated!!
Cheers

have you not read the thread i put up last night then? :p

my windows have stopped working, and so has my central locking, but i've not got any lights on the window switches. the lights went off for a while, but are working again now.
i've removed every fuse and every relay from the under bonnet fuse box, and cleaned them and applied contact cleaner, but still no luck..

the RAC guy was baffled too..

let me know if you get anywhere as im stuck!

For both windows to stop working at the same time then it's not so likely to be fuses as they're fused separately. Relay T13 down by the body computer controls both windows thoiugh so a problem there will deaden both windows

front windows relay and fuses.JPG
Simple check
See if you've got power going to the fuses F47 or F48

yeah i think i might have seen your post but it didn't quite sound like mine... sorry i should of dropped a comment..i'm still learning the forum lark lol. I still haven't sorted out my problem yet. I think i'm gonna have to give the battery a good charge, and maybe disconnecting for a while to see if that sorts out the problem.

@deckchair5 thanks for your reply, i will have a look with my meter to see if theres power getting to the fuses. Where did you get the circuit diagrams from?? Are they readiily available to anyone like me??

Well i've now found out that it was Relay T13!! After testing it and it work on the bench, i tested the contacts for 12V which was present, but the windows still didn't work.

I tested the relay again with a bench power supply and multi meter on continuity and it worked....weird still no windows. So i used a piece of heavy wire and bridged the relay contact in the relay box and hey presto working windows! so it must be the relay! New one ordered!

Hi all,

My windows stopped after my brother tried to jump start his his car and connected the jump leads the wrong way round. He had to replace some kind of connecting fuse near the battery as the car wouldn't start. Since then, neither electric windows are working.

I've checked both left and right fuses near the steering wheel, but they look ok.

Can someone help me in finding the physical loocation of T13 relay as this looks to be the next step? I just don't know where to look.

Thanks, Christooo.

Update: Now found t13 Relay and swapped over. Remains the same.
I can hear a click when press the near side window button from the drivers door. No click from the off-side.

Getting hot in here! Any ideas?
