It is not a problem to add support for the CFC-209 version as well. It is a very rare unit. I see in my source data that it is used in Stilo Selespeed only, and that explains why noone has plans to support it.
I think I can add support for all selespeed verisons in my program at the end of this month or beginning of January.
That would be brilliant if you could. I think all Stilo Abarth owners would be extremely happy to see that feature pop up! If it can control the actuator and run the system through it's calibration routines, then I certainly would!

Hi Yani,

If you need any testing doing I am more than happy to help, also if you can get the actuator tests and EOL calibration routine in there for the CFC-209F I will make a nice donation to your project. Rather line your pocket than that of my garage.

re: FiatEcuScan diagnostic software

Ok guys,
I just checked all the data that I have for the selespeed ECU. And yes, I have the actuator test/calibration information. I will try to include selespeed support in a new release of FiatECUScan by the end of this week.
Thanks danhans115 thanked for this post

Thanks for the tips Dan

I had no joy at all with hyperterminal but changing port properties did the trick

Set the USB transfer size to 64 bytes for Tx & Rx and also set latency to 1mS

As I use a T23 Thinkpad (looking a bit slow but it has a nice hardware D9 port) I dumped the A/V program completely to speed it up a bit and the program worked brilliantly.

What a superb piece of software

Thanks Yani

re: FiatEcuScan diagnostic software

Hi guys,

I released a new version today.
Selespeed CFC208F and CFC209F gearboxes are now supported.
I have not tested the calibration functions because I don't have where to test.
So, please give me feedback when you test the actuator and calibration functions.
Thanks danhans115, Argonought thanked for this post

re: FiatEcuScan diagnostic software

Hi Yani,

Just tried this, it connects to the CFC-209 but does little else. When you do the actuator tests you cant actually hear the pump, and also when the EOL routine is performed, the computer seems as if its connected but nothing happening on the car side.

When they did this for me at the garage you can heat the actuators and the car running through the gears etc..

Ill have another go with it later and see how greggers gets on with it.

re: FiatEcuScan diagnostic software

Punto speedgear uses CFC-228 or 218, the software only has CFC-208/209 at the moment, maybe he could add it?

It does work on other fiat cars, as well as alfas and lancias

re: FiatEcuScan diagnostic software

Hi,

I posted a new version today - FiatECUScan 1.5.
It supports airbags now.
I also added Bosch EDC16/CF4 and Marelli IAW 5NF support.

WARNING !!

just a quick warning- with this version it's possible to reset your phonic wheel self learned values - if you perform this action it will be nessesary to perform the phonic wheel learning procedure !
Your car will beep and blink to warn you this is needed to perform!
The procedure is like following:

start engine, wait until fan kicks in (engine temperature must be high to avoid damage)
rev the engine up to 6000 rpm (5000 is minimum but 6000 is better) and let engine restore idle speed
repeat another two times
key off
key on after 10 seconds - problem solved
if not solved - repeat procedure until blinking and beeping has stopped....
Thanks Steve148 thanked for this post

There's instructions how to set it up on jani's website here;

http://www.fiatecuscan.net/HowToUse.aspx

It also shows a picture of the connector location on a Stilo but for RHD cars, it's at the top of the fusebox.

re: FiatEcuScan diagnostic software

Dont quite know where to put this but just been out to plug into the car and there is abot 25,000km's difference between what it says on the speedo to what it says in the diagnostic software. Speedo is reading less.

Any ideas as to why this should be and should i be worried.

re: FiatEcuScan diagnostic software

I'm in the opposite situation.

My speedo says 71000km, the software reads 68000km.

I notice that 2 out of 4 engine starts, the speedo adds 2km

re: FiatEcuScan diagnostic software

Looking at Jani's forum there does indeed seem to be a problem with the mileage but not entirely sure if it relates to our problems.
Im not too concerned really as i dont think anybody would have clocked my car for the sake of 15,000 miles do you???

Thats all the difference it is in mine. but wierd about your issue though.
