hi , i'm new... been reading this post for a while and i am a little confused . I need several diagnostic cables to be able to acces all my cars computers? What is the latest elm327 version? I found v1.5 but i've read on a website that the 1.5 is a fake and the latest version is 1.4a .
I've found and elm327 v1.4 on ebay ( actually alot more than 1 ) but they're all made and shipped from china ... is it the legit elm327 cable of a copy?
What cable should i get if i want to check on an airbag error code? ( i own a fiat stilo 5dr 1.6 ) .

I have this cable(actually I have a lot of cables), works very well, you'll have no problems connecting to the Airbags. No adapters needed as it has a micro switch fitted.

Have you tried looking at the airbags with this?
Yes, but I have to admit I was scared to do anything once I'd connected to it. I had a quick look around and logged out.
However, I've had other forum members ask for help and I've let them use my laptop and cables to clear their Airbag faults with no issues.
Why scared
You need a firearms license to mess with airbags.
I've been to shoots and clubs with friends that like guns, that was close enough for me.
The destructive power an airbag contains is more than I wish to mess with.
Find a fault code, change a bulb, YES.
But having a steering wheel explode in my face because I pressed the wrong button, NO!
I leave stuff like that to the experts, I have a very pretty face, let them blow theirs off, I like mine where it is ...

Did you adjust the latency timer / buffer limits on the port? When im looking at the airbag screens its seems to want to timeout. Just easier to ask what settings youve adjusted it to than go potching

Yes you can, but only with the registered and paid for version.

I'm pretty sure a VAG.com cable isn't able to do it. To be able to do Proxi-Alignment you'll need an ELM cable.
