Just ordered a 19JTD Dynamic3 door Stilo, has single cd player, already have a 1.6 Stilo Dynamic 02 plate, bought a Blaupunkt changer 1DC A09 to fit cassttee radio, fitted by Fiat in cooler box.
Told now that cd changer can not be changed to new car, radio will will have put security code on it so only works with that HU.
Does this sound right?
If so would rather pull out and put in bin rather than leave in car.

any help appreciated.

Sounds like your dealer is drumming up extra trade as there should be no reason why the changer can't be transferred to the JTD.

The changer has its own 'code' which needs to be entered before a headunit recognises it and you should have been provided with this by the dealer when they fitted it - if you don't have this then you should be having words with the dealer.

Other than that, it shoudl be a straight swap with the dash liner which is removed from the JTD being fitted into your Dynamic.

Welcome to the forums.................................

Frankenstein, mmm, a name more akin to Purplemonday I'd say !!!

As Purple says, go see your dealer and give them a good bollocking, they always try this type of thing on, through sheer ignorance or just to try and make more cash.........................gits!!!

I was going..................................

to get one of these changers, but to be honest, it's be a waste of time, because I always end up sticking the radio on, I like to listen to news, weather, music and chit-chat, CDs become boring and repetitive, a bit like Stiloboy and his economy!!!!

Nope...................................

SCHIZOPHRENIC is the word you want, and yes, I'm a registered Schizo so lay off!

I've always said the performance is poor for a 1.6 and I've always said fuel economy is crap too, that's it, end of, I don't continually go on about it, I just live with it, it is you that keeps harping on about MPGs!

Are you coming to the meet next Sunday, or do you have to work out the mileage against mpg and total expenditure, etc ????

I too find that I listen to the radio most of the time, but when I happen to be driving at the same time as Westwood is on, a CD or MP3 changer would be nice, I could actually add Fergie, Seb Fontaine, Judge Jules and Pete Tong to the list. Single CD would be better than nothing, but doesn't allow for mood and ecclectic taste and I don't want to carry loads of CD's that I have to keep hunting through and changing, whilst driving.

Actually in any posts where i comment in economy, its usually more than common for you to go on about me moaning about economy before i've even posted. So i post just to keep you in spam tokens, so you can claim to be the highest poster. ;)

I tell you what, why not cheapen this post by posting a ebay link to your stickers! ;)

Like they say...

It sounds like your dealer is trying it on, but why not go for
"Well since the car I'm trading in has one, will you fit one to my new car, as a good will jesture, me being a returning customer and all?"

Personally, I miss the Sony MP3 player I had in my old banger, my Dad has it in his car now and he doesn't even know what an MP3 is let alone how to use is :(

many thanks for your help on this,
as the dealer has pointed out it wont go in the new car, he says he can put one in the new car for £175.

I am going to take the cd changer out the old car and put in the bin, rather than leave in for him.

That's pretty extreme - if you do pull the changer I'm sure there would be a few people on here that would take it off your hands (me for one ;) )
