Hi all im newly registered on here but have been watching the forum for a while! I currently drive a bravo jtd105 van which is remapped and I love it but sadly its got fatal rust on the left cill, so it'l be too costly to repair.
So Ive decided to upgrade to a Stilo JTD but the problem is there is a lack of 3 door 115hp models in Ireland. But Ive seen a beautiful 2005 white 80hp goin for cheap that I might get. My plan will be to up the power by fitting the variable geometry turbo from a 115 and an intercooler. Then if the ecu's are the same a remap.

I know its hassle but its got to be better than getting a boring golf gt tddddiiii.

I live in Ireland and wont really consider getting one from England because of the VRT.

Any opinions?
Ned

Unfortunately with a VG Turbo, the ECU controls the vanes . Your ECU wouldn't be set up to do this. It is better to keep your current turbo, but adding an intercooler will help a bit.

As I understand it, but I may be wrong, the 115 HP has a DMF and the 80 HP does not. There are several different clutches, even the 115HP can have a different clutch, depending on when it was made.
