Hello chaps,

Got an engine fault light on my 1.9 jtd MW yesterday. Fortunately I have a handheld OBD2 scanner so was able to have a look at whats going on.... Got an error code of P0235 which equates (according to the handbook) to: "Turbo / super boost sensor A circuit malfunction"..... Anybody know what this is in English?? I guess a sensor somewhere has died. I haven't reset the fault code as of yet as I wanted an idea as to what it is first.....
The car doesn't seem to mind one little bit, in fact it seems to be more economical if anything !!

Thanks in advance,

IanM

That'll be none then.........??
It did actually produce quite a list to start with (many hours ago) but looks like the Search system doesn't work well with links.

The principle is extremely simple though and I'm sure you can manage it :)

Unlikely to be a sensor in my experience but more likely damaged (worn) tubing to/from the overboost valve (VGT valve). I'm assuming the engine hasn't been mapped (tuned) in any way.

Mountains of threads on this subject.

Having just experienced the same thing (although OBD code was P0238 Circuit A high voltage) on my Bravo multijet, I agree with Argonought - I had the EML light come on on M6 with loss of power but great improvement in economy(!) - turns out the pipe from inlet manifold to wastegate sensor had chafed on the engine block and worn through - 10p/2 minute fix by cutting out worn section and rejoining pipe with windscreen washer pipe connector and wrapping in black tape...
