Am hoping for some help with this problem which occured a 2 days back when Idropped my Stilo 1.6 Active in for an MOT check. After a couple of hours they phoned me to say that they could'nt start the engine, it was giving 'Security Failure' which a pic of a spanner. Triedit a few times myself and, yes, it would turn over but not fire, giving this message. Having only one key I could'nt say for sure it was that, anyone had similar experiences ? Whats best to check. Car stil in the yard of the garage, will haveto move it tommorrow, Monday being a busy day. Beforeyou ask, the garage are Renault specialists so not much experience with Fiats really. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum! Soory to hear about the problems you're having.

The key has an RFID chip in it which doesn't require a power source to work. It's more likely that the immobiliser receiver in the steering column has failed or has a dodgy connection.

Do a search for on the forum for the "Security Failure" message. A few others on the forum have had similar issues (y)

This might be a good start https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/132328-non-start.html
