Hi guys,
I just bought a 2005 fiat stilo. I was driving it on the M25 2 days after getting it and it cut out. I pulled over and the computer was telling me to check the Vehicle protection system. It would not start. I had to get towed home at the cost of £120! When i got home the car started working again. But to my disapointment the problem happened again.
I had no choice but to take the car to a fiat dealer. They re-programmed the keys and gave it a full diagnostic check. After re-programing the keys the car worked and the diagnostic highlighted no faults. When i came to pick up the car the same problem happened. Fiat say they dont know what it is and they will have to do further investigation. An orange symbol of a car with a lock lights up on the dash. (I think its somthing to do with the immobiliser)

Does anyone know what this problem is and how i can fix it? I am desperate and would very much appreciate any advice/info.

bad connection somewhere in the immob system, usually at the aerial on the ignition switch. wiggling the wires will cure it 90% of the time.

Thanks for your help. where are the wires that i should wiggle. i remember in a brevious thread you helped someone and told them they could change the areial for £10. do you think i need to change it or just wiggle the wires.
