Hi folks

Any advice offered would be greatly appreciated: I have a black 3 door '54 Stilo Abarth which my family and I absolutely love. I finish paying it off in August so was thinking about what to get next. The problem is there is nothing out there that would provide all that the Stilo has (it's fully kitted - leather, skywindow, sat nav, etc)! It's main downside is its thirst (30ish mpg) but it makes up for that in so many other ways! I've done around 60k in it which is above average so I know I wouldn't get much for it - not that they sell for what they are worth anyway.

Does anyone know about engine re-builds? What exactly do they entail?
Has anyone got a less thirsty Stilo (such as a JTD) with all the kit and looks of the Abarth?
What have people bought after their Abarth that they are happy with?

Any advice would be fantastic!

Never had the lusting for the abarth and as I have said so many times I dont like the car at all.. maybe you should be looking at the JTD in 150bhp mode it gives you more power than the abarth and returns more MPG..so your quids in..the problem is of course finding one..

laguna 2.2dci "initiale" spec estate has followed my abarth - all the toys of the abarth (except phone/selespeed) but with 40-45mpg.
remap will bring around 170-180bhp and 350-400nm/t.
much bigger car physically being the downside.

is the new pool car at work, basically mine for any company mileage i do.

goes like stink, lovely toys, comfy, great cruiser, all in one a nice car (until it goes wrong) (y)

Not sure what your thinking to stretch to but the Alfa 147 with the JTD150 engine is rather nice. Can be chipped to 200bhp odd (like the Stilo JTD150) and you actually see a fair number of them about unlike the Stilo 150s.

If you've got £10k to blow then an Alfa GT with the same engine would be nice.

Mind you for £10k you could get a 147 GTA which would be a bit like your Abarth but with everything turned up to 11
