I'm down to my last 2 of these (there are 4 to start with) and yet according to ePer there's no such part :bang: which is pretty dumb when you consider corrosion of these must be the main reason undertrays fall off.

Any Stilo boffins out there like to volunteer the part number for me :)

PLEASE :worship:

Surely any spring screw fitting would work? Doesn't have to be the Fiat part.
These are common from as far afield as Wilkinsons to Wickes

This is true and I'd imagine that's exactly how many end up but if you examine the original then you find it's really quite well made and robust (there's a reinforcing plate on the top which is not quite visible in the image).

It seems very clear to me that substitute parts fitted don't have the strength of the original and once corrosion sets in then they can quickly fail - as they did on two which had already been replaced in the past :(

Also, in case you haven't already guessed - I'm a bit of a perfectionist :)

I just drilled a few holes in the undertray and the adjacent fixed panel, and fixed with cable-ties.

well my undertray fell off once, well it was hanging off.

So I put the 4/6 screws back on (can't remember how many) and then at the front of the undertray there is space for 2 bolts, on both of my Stilo's they didn't have bolts in  so I put 2 bolts in there and that undertray is going nowhere :)

Let me see what I can find - mine is still in the shed, think the fittings in the car ashtray  - will look tomorrow, when I go down and pick up the other car, need to empty it all.

What about drilling alligned holes and using some corrosion resistant M5 or M6 nuts and bolts?

Now it's funny you should mention that as I've already got a packet of odd fittings that came from Italy which I paid a tenner for :bang:

The problem is keeping the nut captive. Just imagine wanting to get the tray off in a hurry and the nut starts spinning

I bet T14 got a right stash of them as he don't put the trays back on but sells them of at the winter fair as taboggans

Why not pot rivet on some (not sure what they're called, but we use them at work on the wooden floors) clips, they're like a nut inside a little casing - you can get them M4 upwards. Then bolt just screws in and out, not worries about the nut spinning - only hard bit is trying to line them up corectly!

OK, so has anyone any idea where these go?

They're supposed to fit on the undertray somewhere but they sure as hell don't fit mine :(

Anybody recognize them

It's a bit oversized - only an M10 bolt really (like the two at the front of the undertray)

Only guessing but I would say looking at that pic that the part the bolt screws into is some kind of press stud just like a helli coil ..so that will press in where ever  and the undertray goes on top and the bolt bolts into it through the tray are they the front fixings Argo ? as mine are missing there as well :chin:

Bah! You lot! After my first service (Stonacre) my car was returned to me without the undertray, when I queried it they said it didn't have one on, but I know it did, because I saw it when I changed the springs, anyway, they also said it wasn't neccesary and that I had nothing to worry about.

Either some body eats these or the tecchies are just too bone idle to replace them after a service.
