hi everyone, i've bought myself a new car, i got a 1.4 active sport 3door 95 bhp its on a 56plate and has done 6miles, but i was wondering what small changes i could make to see an increase in performance.

i see k&n make a panel filter replacement for the 56 model, and was wondering if this would make much differece.

all other suggestions appreciated.
cheers Jon

The gains for a remap on your model are 10-12%, the K & N is ok, I have one and it definitely makes a difference, in terms of BHP though it's minimal maybe 2-3 BHP but it revs more freely which is good.

The usual sort of things, induction, free-flow exhast will add a few bhp.

A remap at 10% on an N/A - Seems optimisitic to me, but some engine do remap better than others. Best things from remaps as they make the acceleration smoother IMO.

Other than that I'd get some decent suspension and brakes and enjoy the twisties more than the straights

If its only done 6 miles, your best option is to do a lot of varied driving to allow the engine to bed in properlly.

Was talking to oldschool about how much mileage you need [minimum ]on an engine before you start to do any mods and the general consensus is 2k at least ..GSR induction and remap should get you to around the 112/115 figure :) you also have to consider the implications of your warranty as well if anything should pop up with induction and ecu so you have to think about it in a wider sense as well as performance sense (y)

cheers for that, i suppose it makes sense to give the enigine abit of use before changing anything. dont suppose you have a link as to where i could get a gsr induction that would fit my car? thanks in advance

Thats generally the figure most tuners look at.
