Introduction
The D4 connector on the Stilo is located in the engine bay, inside the battery box. It is a very loaded connector, and takes multiple CAN feeds from the engine node, brake node and the instrument cluster, as well as permitting other connections.

What faults will this cause?
Mainly, this connector will cause the following faults on engine/ignition startup;
  • Engine Fault
  • Any combination of ABS, ASR, EBD, ESP faults
  • Car Security Failure
Obviously, as it is carrying a CAN feed to the dashboard, any other errors might have their cause here.

What does D4 look like?
It is shown in the attachment below, and is arrowed.

So what do I do with it?
Go to the D4 Guide for details of how to cure this problem.
