Delete those who have never made any posts after 1 year.

Re: Delete old members?

There is a problem with this. What happens if the person only ever posts in the LL (like TashyG), their post count won't increase but they are still an active member of the forum. What your suggesting will only work if there is a reliable way of automating the process of deleting people.

I don't think we need to worry any more about deleting members - Ben doesn't see it as an issue, after all

Re: Delete old members?

i would be worried if you started culling inactive members because i come to the forum everyday but i do not post very often, i read most things which are going on though, so would that make me active or inactive because i am not posting often enough?

Re: Delete old members?

maybe i should elaborate

when someone now signs up, they need to go through a validation email process. this verifies their account and makes them active. you wouldn't believe the amount of people that don't do this, and it's these people that get deleted after 14 days.

if you validate your account, it stays.

and thats a good point darkcircuit, i had forgotten about that...

Re: Delete old members?

Maybe we should impose a minimum age limit of, say, 21?

And a maximum age (to keep the forum fluid, quick moving and "hip") of say, 1 year less than your current age?

Re: Delete old members?

Then the forum could have just one viewpoint on all car matters, wouldn't that be so interesting
