Ha - I meant I am using other peoples, in last nights case it was the library....

I've just gone through and done a load now, but as always, companies with no details don't get added, neither do generic products.

i thought it made more sense to have generic products, for example i added Fiat - Sideskirts.

otherwise you would need to approve sideskirts for every model.....

ffs I've been filling bits out compleatly on the requests (manufacture and full product details) and still they get left :bang:

I've given up. Not worth adding mod's to a car in the garage if you can't add them all. How silly.

Manufacturers are all authorised, still most people don't fill in the details so some are left if I can't find what they are.

Problem with generic bits though as people name them all by different things and we're going to end up with hundreds of dupes:

Example:
Front Splitter
Splitter
Abarth Splitter
Punto Splitter

etc etc .... we need some way to categorise these and at the moment it just hasn't been solved. Hence they are all left.

Surely stuff like

Fiat > 17" Polished face alloys

should be accepted?

For a start the size shouldn't be there - as then we need definitions for every size.

And what is a polished face alloy anyway? Could you go into a shop and ask for it? I think you'd need to give a bit more detail and that is the problem.

If we move the garage away from actual product models and start including anything, it will just get crazy. "Resprayed Bonnet" isn't a product, it's just a bonnet with some new paint.

I see that kind of stuff as supposed to be typed in the description, not added on to the listings...?

Polished face is the type of finish on the wheel- the ones on my car ie one on the right are polished face, the ones on the left are not.

What about my Parrot HU? I've added Parrot as a company and thats been excepted, but never seem to be allowed to add the HU

Well no - as what is a FIAT alloy?

Lets take TSW Venoms for example:
TSW Venom 15"
TSW Venom 17"

Are both Venoms, just a different size. Until the software allows a third field for each product (so you can choose size, colour etc) - it's going to have to stay as it is.

Well how about just e.g

TSW => Venom

and then obviously comments can be added to the description,

so in that case

FIAT => Polished face alloys

and then i can add size/ details to the modfication description... would that work?
