Cinq and Sei clutches are generally quite reliable, but as with everything some of them will develop faults.

Snapped cable.
The cable has a hook end to it where it meets the pedal linkage in the passenger footwell. This end can snap off, and the clutch pedal will hit the floor and stay there. Cables do go just from wear and tear, but repeated clutch cable failure is usually a sign that something is amiss internally with the clutch mechanism. If the clutch is very heavy in operation it could be due to seized clutch pivot arm bushes - the gearbox needs to come off for this. If the gearbox is off, may as well fit a full new 3 piece clutch while you're in there.

Dragging or noisy clutch
tell tale signs are difficulty getting into gears (especially first from a standstill, and grinding when going for reverse - do remember that you should be stopped to get reverse, mind!)

Can happen if the cable needs adjusting (Correct adjustment is a travel of 120mm measured from pedal to steering wheel base for Sportings or 110mm for the 899 engines) or can be due to release bearing or clutch internal failure. Budget on £70 for a DIY job or £150 for a garage to change the clutch if it proves necessary.
