As useful as the title may be

Last night my house was broken in to... they stole my keys, my girlfriends keys/bag purse etc... bastards... luckily my dad heaerd them un-bliping my car (for about 10 mins :confused:) and when he looked through the window they scarpered. problem now is... they have keys to my car, and obviously know where i live. what do you do in this situation? currently the car's battery is unplugged... and is manually locked and the front door is dead-bolted.

I'm so ****ed off!! i guess it could have been worse... they could have got the car... what i cant understand is why they were their locking and unlocking the car for 10 mins!!:confused::confused:

points to anyone who can guess what they were wearing...

Owen...

Deffo wearing hoodies probs feckin chavs. Sorry to hear about this mate :(

Yup hoodies SOCO just came out, and they seem to have been wearing gloves...

Seems there were a few attacks on cars last night around my area.

in the car changing the locks would make sense, but they have the bliper for the alarm aswell...

i'm going to get in contact with the people i bought the alarm from because if i can get the box changed even if they come back with the key, if the doors are unlocked without blipping the car (with the correct blipper) the alarm will go off and the same goes if you start the engine with the alarm active.

what type of alarm is it? some alarms you can reset and the key fob they have would be deleted from the system.,
also, you'll need to do something a bit more technical than unplug the battery, thats the first thing they'll check., remove one of the main fuses or something.,.,

oh and i bet they had burburry hats.,.,lol.,

just some cheap ebay one, car isn't going anywhere, firstly, it's blocked in by my dads van, secondly i fitted a switch up to the ignition that means even if they do come back, unlock the car, move the van, and attempt to start the engine... they will be dissapointed.

why dont yuo remove the spark plugs instead? bit easier isnt it?
New lock set will be needed but like VTEC said, you might be lucky with the alarm reset.
They were probably blipping it cos of an imobiliser light or something that hasnt gone off so they think that it is set maybe?
either way, lucky for you that they did else it'd be gone by now!
i'd love to catch someone trying to nick my car....

I must admit I am shocked. When one was on holiday in France last year our People carrier was stolen then recovered later. It would take to long to describe the situation. There also was a time when some parasite had removed a few bolts from the wheels of my car, didn't notice until I was on the move.

I wish you the best and that those goons get what's comming to them.

I hope the toe rags get what the deserve. I hope everything works out well for you. And hopefully they have not read this forum. Fingers crossed.(y)

damn, sorry to hear about this mate

as for key cutting and chipping i honestly dont know, do you have the red key? i believe its something like timpsons can cut keys and chip / programe for alot less than fiat

the scrotes will probably be checking the area fairly regularly unfortunately, if they see an oppertunity they will pounce, and they have no problem doing it during the day time (usually less people around because of work etc :()

take the spark plugs out and maybe remove the front break pads... that way is they do manage to get away with the car they wont be going very far at all, yeah itll hurt knowing they crashed, but think how many of them will wear seat belts and drive slowly in a stolen motor...

It'll be rolling code, fiat job wont it? Maybe best to get whole replacement set like vtec said.

Sorry to hear the news owen :( Hope you and corsa owner are both ok

Yeah rolling code...£130 from fiat, no other option apart form totally changing locks...

but hey, fitted the new today, unfortunately not as easy as swapping the boxes over like i thought hooked it up to the horn :D it's so fooking loud!!!

heres an idea some like minded coppers will back me up here ( if we got any onboard ) go too hellfrauds (the only place round here that stocks them) and buy the biggest mag lite you can buy keep it buy the door and if you are lucky enough/unlucky enough too catch them doing it again beat the living day lights out of them with the light ... this way there is no intent of actual bodily harm due too the fact its a torch and not a big heavy lump of say lead that you had waiting for them ... always say they just came at you though

remove ht leads ultimate stopper or battery out

my mate lost his heavly tuned impre p1 like this break in to house pinch keys drive off
