Right i need an alarm for the cabby, it needs to have proximity sensors as its a convertible, it doesnt need to do central locking really as the car doesnt have it but if not too costly add-on then i could get it, just needs boot/doors/bonnet pins, and basic alarm functions like panic etc. What does everyone recommend? im thinking about £150 for the alarm without fitting as i want something half decent and know a guy who will ft it for me.. Car already has an immobiliser so thats sorted.. Ta.. Craig

my punto has a meta on it, i think it might be a factory one cos the remote for it says fiat meta, its got the interior sensors you speak of, its just a basic one tbh compared to these toad/clifford ones but it certainly works very well for me, iv tested all the inside sensors and they work perfect, and it goes off when the doors/boot is opened but not the bonnet but i think its probably an add on.

my red punto again has a meta on it, that seems quite ok too, but its not got the inside sensors or anything, just basic.

my old blue gt, had a clifford, now that was good! but probably expensive, if your after flash then id buy one but if you just want a good basic meta seems good. this one if you walked past or near the car, it gave off a bleep to warn you off :D and flashed its lights at you lol, was brilliant tbh but it did cause attention to it self doing this everytime someone walked past :bang:

sorry proximity sensors has basically a shield around the car so if someone steps within a certain distance of the car it beeps, not ultrasonic sensors as this would be useless if i have the top down, so it senses when something enters the area around the car and beeps/goes off. to stop people reaching over the window and nicking my headunit etc..

oh right well id still say this would work with a cabrio... if i put my hand past the window when its down, the alarm goes off.

there was a punto at fastfest with proximity

and a cabrio at a cruise last night with the same system

yea Blus cinq has it, very good deterant! and yea if the ultrasonic sensors were fitted then if i left the top down when i quickly pop in a shop all the air movement would set it off.. as i cant be arsed to keep putting up/down the roof everytime i get outta the car! lol
