Hi All

Van has been great apart from past few months now been having intermitant alert telling me driver door is open (it's not) van beeps, followed by door open message if i use central locking when driving it refuses to lock. Parked up and I lock it both with key or with key fob van locks fine no problem.

Now all this week every 20seconds or so the van beeps telling me the door is unlocked 100% driver door it's saying is the issue, even though it's not and driving it is becoming a total nightmare I have 3 weeks in france booked in Aug and like to get this fixed before I go OR allow enough time to change the reg on ferry ticket!

Anyone got any ideas of what part might be failing? I did fire oil in the door latch and it used to fix it, but now not even that is working.. Is there a cable I can just 'unplug' in the door so the sensor does not activate or a resistor I can plug in to trick it?

Any help would be great.

Got this sorted after spending months trying to find a part finally got a door mechanism from a dispatch for £65 took it all apart and replaced, door now locks and no more alerts :)

I had this, I just cut the wire to the sensor in the end but that throws up its own problems. It now does not know if the door is open so if you dont open any other door or turn the ignition it locks itself after 30 seconds. not a big problem and I might one day get round to fixing it properly. was the sensor easy to swap from lock to lock?

Think the sensor is part of the lock so can't be changed on its own

Had to swap out the locking mechanism, take door card off, remove the white foam padding.

Remove clip from internal door handle and pull away cable.

Side of the door 2 x T30 bolts i think undo these so they are just loose, above top bolt there is a black cover pop that off and use a T10 (i think) to undo the threaded bolt this loosens the front handle lock mount.

At the front door put a small screw driver behind the lock to pull that out, handle pops away from it (you hear a click / snap when the handle comes out thats just the catch returning nothing to worry about) behind the handle there is one screw undo that and the top internal door handle bit (not sure what its called) falls down.

Now remove the rest of the side door bolts fully the lock mech should now be loose enough to remove.

Once it's out the door latch mount undo that cable.

Replace door mech with new one or second hand part, add the cable back to the external door handle mount and slide this back up inside the door, fix it it back in place with the screw you removed. Now put the 2 bolts back into the door mech to hold that in place.

Attach the cable back to internal door handle, put door card back. Now make the side door bolts all tight, the door lock (external keep this out till last) Put the handle back (now you might not be able to get it to sit back this is because there is some plastic catch that opens the door its like a reverse L on the door handle you need to clip this back in place I used a very small screw driver to 'Open' the plastic catch and then I could push the door handle back in place.

Slide the door lock (for the key) back along side door handle, now tighten the threaded bolt / gromit back up to secure door key lock.

Should be job done.

Took me about 30min to do, the longest bit was trying to get the door handle back in place. I could take some detailed pictures next time i get the door cards off next weekend if you wanted. Easy enough job though I thought and I'm no expert!

Out of interest where is the sensor cable? It's been driving me mad for ages lol
