I hope there's someone that can help me. I have a 1.6MJT 2010 Scudo van and the gears are stiff - particularly coming out of 5th gear - it seems to have lost it's "spring" back into the central position and feels like stirring lumpy porridge!
Do I need to buy new cable assembly? I have seen these for £134 but don't want to waste money if this is not the problem. Are these easy to fit? Or perhaps the bit the gear stick connects to is duff? (the plastic assembly between the gearstick and the cables)


Also does anyone know where the fill plug is for the gearbox oil?

This turned out to be a seized gear linkage - symptoms were -
very stiff moving the gear stick from left to right (forward and backwards was ok though).

I haven't one of these, but it's really good to see the fix posted to help others who might.

Common on several Fiat models, take the assembly apart, clean, and refit it with a lot of Teflon grease, and it will be fine for a couple of years...

I have since found out where the oil filler is for the gearbox.
On the side pointing toward the near-side wheel there is a "cover" held on by a lot of bolts - there is one bolt (on the edge nearest the back) which is much larger than the other (17mm I think) - this is the oil filler one!
