Driving home the other night in my Qubo 1.3 Multijet Trekking, I went to clean my rear windscreen, the wiper arm went to the 12 o'clock position and then stopped dead. I hunted through the user manual and tried to identify the fuse that would protect the motor but none was shown in the book so manually checked those under the steering wheel and all were fine. Those under the bonnet aren't easy to get at so haven't checked them yet.

So....

1. Any idea which is the correct fuse for the rear wiper motor?
2. If the fuse is OK (when I find it), any ideas what else could be wrong?
3. If it is the motor that's gubbed - any tips for removing it or servicing it (it wasn't that obvious as to how it is removed - I've removed the back panel btw so can access the motor easy enough)?

I'd be really grateful for any tips/advice/help you can give.

Thanks.:)

Morning,

You have done the obvious by checking the manual for the fuse location, I can see what you mean by the isn't one marked for the wipers ( front or back! ) .

As you have suggested yourself, checking the the engine fuse box for any obvious blown fuses is the only way.

If you have access to a multimeter, you should be able to check that you have power to the wiper when you either select it with the stalk or engage reverse gear ( mine starts wiping automatically)

If you have power, then it's almost certainly the motor, if not......... Fuse,,, what fuse!!

Someone else on the forum will have the answer over fuse location, watch this space!

Keep us updated please

has anyone ever P'ID which is the fuse for the wiper motors front n rear?

If anyone ever needs to replace said motor, the bastards in turkey rivet the soddin thing in place (x3 large rivets) so I've had to drill 'em out after braking the plastic mounts on the motor unit....(n)

Easy to work out why. 3 rivets one machine probably 20p to do total job. 3 bolts, washers and nuts double that, use a human to torque down the screw, double the cost. Do that over a few thousand units......

Washing machine, eliminate screws holding facia plate on, saves 30p a unit, ( Use one way fixings instead, cheap as chips) COST ME £35 to replace the facia as you break the fixing to get it off to replace a £2 switch! ) just don’t go there......
