HELP!!!

I just brought myself a black late 2012 Bipper Tepee (auto with stop/start) (almost same as a Qubo, you guys seem to have a section for the Qubo but the Peugeot forum doesn't have one for the bipper!).

As far as i'm aware the fuel consumption should be about 50+ MPG. I got just under 40 MPG since i've been driving it. This seems wrong. I do have a problem with the stop start (i.e not stopping and starting!) so that will reduce it a bit, but it just seems very low. I drove it fully auto with the eco cycle engaged around town.

Is there anything i'm doing wrong, or anything that i can do to improve the fuel consumption?

Hi Petersto,

Welcome to the Qubo forum.

You haven't said if your motor is petrol or diesel, but if its a diesel, then most of us hover around the 50 odd mpg mark.

So happen you may have a problem, no doubt one of the other Qubist/Fiorinoist on here will have some suggestions, so keep looking out.

Cheers Qube O

I used to have a Bipper Tepee Outdoor with 1.4HDi motor and manual gearbox. It regularly returned around 54mpg in mixed driving. On a run, 58-62 was possible with a light right foot.

I now have a Qubo 1.3Mjet dualogic (auto). No matter how i change the driving style, or whether I use auto or "manual", it's returning around 44mpg. It's still only done 12k miles though............

I have the qubo 1.3 duologic which we got at 10k miles, at the time it did aprox 44/45 mpg on our daily run to work (10 miles each way)

A year on, now at 22k it returns between 52/54 mpg, same journey.

We do however some times have to go down south, a journey of 130 miles of which 100+ is dual / motorway driving which currently returns about 45..... If I drive 75/80 mph.... And about 48 if she who must be obeyed drives... 70mph ish

Can't beat the car for versatility though, and at £20 for car tax........

mine only has 5200mi so is still breaking in i guess. at first when new, it was getting really crappy 40-45mpg which i thought was because it was new (engine). turned out my tires were ALL low (on a new car!) so i pumped up and ive been getting 49-51 mpg intown-mixed.

just took an 800 mi trip to istanbul round trip with 4 adults and luggage to the top in the boot...avg'd 47mpg.

i change my air filters/cabin filters WAY before the book says and i hand vacuum them in the home several times before i change them, and, every time before a long drive.

...whoops forgot to add: i have 2013 1.3 MJ with duologic...i used duologic most of the time when it was new but now im playing around with manual shifting because i find that, compared to the computer's algorithm, i run first and 2nd gears out a tad more than the computer, then, settle into 3-4-5th more quickly than the computer. trying to see now if this is more efficient mpg's wise.

Thanks everyone. Been driving more and suddenly start stop started working in the middle of my journey! My MPG has gone up to 50 or so. Thanks for your input!

Now to change the head unit, put in LED lighting and LED amber strobes and i'll be set!

Adding to an older thread, I realise, but I've been running my 2012 Qubo 75hp 1.3Mjet around in "manual" for a goodly while now, just general out and about around country lanes, in town and short(ish) trips. I'm still getting a disappointing 43.7mpg on the computer, and the car's at 13,900 miles now. I used to get around 54 with my Bipper 1.4HDi.

So, today I had a mixed journey to do, of around 100 miles. Mostly roads equivalent to UK single carriageway A & B roads, with transits thru villages and small towns. I put it in "auto", with the "E" button in, set the computer to display average consumption A and zeroed it, set up my B&M2 TomTom sat nav to "eco drive info", and decided to drive with a light right foot, attempting to keep the average steady or rising, and playing ball with the ecodrive, keeping wherever possible in the green and at worst in amber on the display. Result for the journey- average of 56.2mpg.

So, all in all, not bad- I occasionally got around 62 from the Bipper when on long, steady runs, but more regularly around 58mpg on such journeys, so the Qubo is starting to get there now................
