hey guys I have just bought a 61 plate qubo and I have a question

when drivein to work this morning at 1am I noticed that the dials to set the fan speed and air flow weren't light up, but the temperature dial was light up is this normal or do I have a bulb out

Hi steelvper, All of the heater/vent controls are back lit........so if you have one not, it has a problem.

Hope that helps.......welcome to the Forum, any other questions, post them up and no doubt the answer will appear as if by magic.........lol

Cheers Qube O.

Would anyone happen to know how to replace this bulb I have spent most of the day trying to find out and have come up with nothing, really don't want to go back to fiat dealer as I only got the car Wednesday and have been back four time already :(

Start with removing the cd player
Then the hazard switch
Remove heater vent panel
Then the heater switch panel
All the screws will evident as you move down in the order
Post up pics as you go for future topics
I have removed mine but not bulbs, but that was before i joined so i have no photo to show you.
LUIGI

cheers
that seems like a hell of alot of work for one bulb and wouldn't have a clue how to start may just resort to dealers joke after owning the car for four days four

ah right well only one way to find out I guess going to have an attempt tomorrow morning and see how it goes , just hope its easy to remove the hazard button and stuff would prefer fiat to change it but don't want to be screwed over in the process

Think I'd rather pay half hours labour, save the struggle with lack of right tools and equipment, not to mention bleeding fingers, and air blue with unhappy comments......lol

Each to his own.

Cheers Qube O.

I would tend to agree on that mate , however I got a set of keys for four quid and got the radio out in seconds just got to work out next step no cuts yet lol however first cut and straight to Fiat

It's good learning how to get at things that normally a dealer would fleece you for as you'll enjoy that familiarity knowing how the things work.

Luigi, when you have the radio and the lower panels out, is the wiring clear for all things behind there? On your manual box floor mount, is there anything illuminated that gets lit as the ignition is put on rather than just at lights on time? I want to find the supply to my auto box lever status indicator lamps (+/- Auto, E letters etc. which are backlit) and tie it into the dash display lighting for 'always on' with the ignition on since it's darker than a dark place which is dark, without the lights on. It seems the nearest place for power knowing that the supply to that backlight is switched with the ignition unless there's a radio feed too that's ignition only?

One other thing, whilst you have the radio out, what wiring can I swap over to make the radio come on when I turn the ignition on and go off when I turn it off instead of the infuriating messing about having to switch it on and off manually EVERY time I get in and out. WTF is all that in aid of?? Some things have been standard in cars since a radio was first ever put in a car, then Fiat (fill in other makes here too I guess..) have to go and change the design of 'standard' for no good reason at all.
