PAHH!!!! thats nothing, mine failed at the w/e for 1 indicator not being orange enough!( honest)Some of these examiners are bloody :tosser:

I cant stand of hearing about these petty failures on MOT's - fair enough I am all for making sure the cars brakes work properly and the steering and the tyres are safe but a failure due to a blown bulb or a indicator not orange enough really ticks me off. - We are are own enemy i suppose because we put up with all this crap and go along with the rules - lets all join together and revolt! :)

Matt you really need to learn to sweet talk the examiner ;) I've had one or two fail points (such as bulbs/ fluids that I hadn't spotted) ignored and just get told to fix them when I get home :)

Here in Ireland the NCT - National Car Testing (Irish equivalent of the MOT) is strict. If something fails like a light bulb you have to get it fixed and take it back to the test station but you are not allowed to take it back the same day nor can you fix (replace a light bulb) on their premises either. Most of the time you have to pay a re-test fee.

There is no sweet talking to the examiner or bribing allowed and these test centres do not repair any vehicles they are there personally to test the car for road worthiness and because they don't fix cars its not in their interest to fail a car for you to say to them that you want something fixed on the car and line their pockets even more than say if it was a garage in the UK that fixed cars and also MOT'd them.

The majority of tests are done by machines and then the results are printed out on the office printer. - Because its done mainly by machines there is no way you can bung the examiner a few more quid 'to get it through the test'!

Believe me Helz, this bloke is a first class :tosser: and must have been passed out as one with distinction.I used to use the place alot then stopped going there but i couldnt remember why:confused: . It all came back to me when the Bravo failed on that, to me thats just an advisory:bang: :bang: .
England should be like Ireland where MOT,s are concerned. Garages shouldnt be able to do MOT,s and repairs, its just open day for conning Bast*rds(n) :bang: :bang: .
