Hi !

I've recently got a Punto 75 ELX, mk1.
However there's this smell, which is coming (I presume) from somewhere at the front of the car. It's noticeable while driving only w/ open windows - when I close them and start the ventilator - there isn't any smell at all !?

Any ideas on where/what should I look at? I gave it a quick look the other day but it didn't seem to be leaking from anywhere

it could be coming from the fuel filter area

Smell of petrol while driving, you gotta admit the smell of petrol is a good! well imo it is!

my guess is that the fuelhoes to the fuelrail are old and may leak when there is pressure.
Lett the motor run and check hoses and give some gas during the prosedure so the fuel pressure goes up.
(hope i spell alright im not use to wright in english)

A bit less technical here..... but where do u get ur petrol from???

I used to get petrol from Asda supermarket and it is **** - it made my car stink of petrol. I then changed to BP and the smell has gone.

Low octane fuel????????
