I need to make another key as only got 1, does it have a chip in it and is it easy to get another copy?

They are "chipped" for the immobiliser. If you have the red master key then you should be able to reprogramme a virgin key. Otherwise its a main dealer job and they have to contact fiat to get the key code from italy. Its even worse if it has remote locking.
You can have another key cut just to undo the doors but wont be able to start the engine.

this is not right for a mk1 punto.

just take your blue key to any good key cutters and they will make you a clone ( cut new key and copy chip data to chip in new key) for £25-£35

Couldnt get mine done at anywhere near me Dave. Ended up going to fiat and they just wanted to replace everything, ECU, door locks, code box, ignition barrel and as I have remote central locking the radio reciever as well (which for the cabriolet is different). I could buy virgin keys from ebay but as I hadnt got the red key I couldnt reprogramme it.

As dave and fingers suggest, you should be able to just take the blue key and have it cloned on a mk1 punto.. Back when these cars were new it is correct you needed the red key to get a new key made but this is not the case anymore, these are old technology now and pretty simple.
There must be a key cutters somewhere nearby that does car keys.. Whereabouts are you from Jessica?
