Hi pink Where did you get your switch connector from that does these pins

Hi, elxpunto, I got it from ebay uk based ebayer, a bit more cost than china one's but they don't have the switch.

Ok I just ordered one with the switch hope it is going to ok cost £20 off ebay

It worked for me, where as the one from China did not!

I got mine from uk and still not having no luck it's a vag one
The first pic is the vag one and the other is the elm327 tried using fiat ecu scan and other ones and can't get it to work just keeps saying ecu not responding

using the first one and the last one.

connect to laptop USB.
connect the two cables.
connent the three pin to the three pin connector near the divers side near the ECU.
connect the red flying lead to the Pos of Battery.
run software IAW ECU Scan 2.

start and run engine.

Mine works fine!

I have an mk 1 1.6 elx 90 8v the 3 pin connector is attached at back of engine bay on to a black box the ecu is inside car under centre console

i wonder if you can blink test the old 1.6 engines like you can a GT...? I know it doesn't work on cinq/sei's and FIRE engined mk1 punto's but its the same engine family as the GT... Anyone ever tried blink testing a 1.6 8v??

Getting the wires working is the best solution obviously, i'm just curious now if blink testing would work...

This is using elm327 the vagcom doesn't work at all and it has the 4 way switch I'm starting to lose my rag with it now I've spent £50 on this gear and still no luck

I think Blu73 is right, it is not a fire but a 128 SOHC engine, but still not sure, not touched one of these, any more info would help.

me neither, i just know its same engine family as my GT and on a GT you can do blink test to get codes.

I haven't tried a blink test yet but got the instructions on how to do it will try it out this week coming hope I can get some where with it engine is running fine just keep getting a injector light appear within 5 mins of driving and opening it up

Tried blink test and it doesn't support my car didn't work dam now what!

I looked on fiatecuscan and it has my car in it punto 90 but only shows airbag option on the free version if I paid for the full version will it let me click on other bits like abs or ecu I'm confused I have a kkl cable that has a 4 way switch also I have a elm327 module and a 3 pin converter plug I need some help here please because it won't read off car

My engine is a 176 if that helps

Hi pink how's the guide coming along about the diagnostics

start it last weekend, had to go back and do photo's, still not happy, so I have done a movie, should be able to take photo's from the movie, so will be done shortly.

PS, I noticed when doing this that it showed three com ports on mine, trying to remember com 1, 3 or 5, and 6, I started to used com 1, which gave me the same error, I changed it to com 6 and that works, please check which com port you are selecting!
