I recently purchased a Fiat Punto 5dr 1.2 sx 1998. My oil light came on this morning however I am not sure what oil to put in.

Can anyone please help.

That is not good. The oil light means the engine is critically low on oil so will need at least 2 litres of top up I would expect.

You need 10W 40 oil Any type should be fine. Just check on the dipstick that it is back up to the correct level and try and check it weekly as a habit.

Not doing so can seriously damage your engine in the long run.

Do swap out the oil anf filter. Check if any of the supermarkets or factors are doing good deals on 10/40 semi synthetics, but owt is better than nowt.
