Hust thought I would post up about the Angel eyes I fitted after being unsatisfied by the brightness of the LED ones I made. Basically I bought a CCFL kit for a Mazda 6 from Hong Kong (notoriously unreliable but I went for it as it was cheap) and used 4 of the rings. I havent noticed a difference in the beam pattern but it must have been affected by fitting the lights as they sit in the recess in front of the projector lens reflector, I'm sure MOT man will let me know come the time! Does not affect my driving or other peoples so I'm not too worried!

Anyway, first I cut out the lens with a dremel, offered up the rings I had to see which ones fitted (Hong Kong kit came with 6 identical rings :bang: so had to make do).
Then siliconed them into the recess' of the reflectors (tec7's trans7).
Fed the wires through the spare connector hole for the fog light.
Fed another two wires through the same whole and spliced onto the side light power and ground wires.
This meant the Inverter could be outside the unit (Hong Kong unit = Going to blow up) so it would be easily replaced.
Tested and happy :)
Fitted lenses back on with trans7 again(could do with a refurb at some stage)
Fitted onto car and heres the results if anyone wants to have a go!

C+C welcome!

hi bigS dont suppose you measured the diameter of these before fitting did you?
im tempted to order some from china and have a mess myself

Can't tell you off the top of my head but I will measure the spare ones I have when I get home from work. They would look a million times better with a good camera or in the flesh! Expecially when the plastic headlight cover has been refurbished!

thanks :)
ive got an exhaust cutter ,one of those dreadfull machine mart jobbies so it should be easy to slice the front off the lights:D

Well then you wont be spending a day on the cutting like I did that's for sure!

However, I would try and get two with internal diameter around 75-80mm to go around the outside of the reflector of the projector lens and 70-75mm to go around the outside of the reflector/fog light. The size I have in the photo sits perfectly into the groove for the reflector/fog light but is a little small for the projector lens.

Thanks for this
its more a to do project when it gets a bit warmer at work and im bored, rather than doing it straight away but the measurements are great as i know can look on the bay at my leisure
written them down in my book so i dont lose them:)
