i bought some calipers couple of weeks ago that are reconditioned, and the 2 lugs at the bottom of the caliper where the pin slides in had an anti rattle shim, which got damaged while putting the pin in while also the rubber seal for the slider ended up tearing as it was really thin rubber.

so i set about to look for a new shim and new seals. now the main dealer couldn't find anything to do with a shim on any punto, and couldn't find any suitable seals.

went back to the supplier and they got in touch with the company that reconditioned them and turns out that they are from the puntos in China. is this right or can they not sell Chinese spec calipers as can't find any parts for them?

many thanks

any half decent car spares shop can supply you with an anti rattle kit complete with all the bits you need
as for the split in the rubber slider just fill the hole with rubber grease or if stuck use copper grease
of course you could try super gluing it up if its still clean (wear latex gloves):)

are these standard 8 valve calipers with the lift up bit after you slide the locating pin out
or 16 valve calipers with two solid bolts holding caliper on

8v calipers with the securing pin

well to my knowledge the calipers are the same on all punto till bodyshell change
i cant find a reference number but any decent factor should be able to source these easily
try ringing up andrew pages im sure they have a branch in your town
