General  Key cutting

About £125 (I assume it's none remote etc, just a basic key), and yes, needs to be mainstealer who will order key from factory.

Car come with the imobiliser code? If so you can knock about £15 off of that price.

Still need to get a spare key for my sisters 2004 Panda Active :(

DAMMMM!!!! You got a lot of panda's LOL

hi there i work for fiat maindealer i think the key can be a very exspensive part we have to order a key with code card then the labour for programming fiat charge more than they charged my brother for a new key and codeing and that from porshe lol

What if I took the original chip out of my key, that looks as though its about to break, and glued it to an area around the ignition barrel. Then cut some cheap blanks. Would I be able to use these to start my car. Surley it should reckognise that there is a valid chip in the area.

I hope I dont sound daft, lol

Cheers

yes, but that would be a very silly idea probably invalidate your insurance.

And you car would be able to be hot wired.

How about remove the chip and put it into another key and get it cut?

thing is if your car is stolen you will have some explaining to do to the insurance company (and possibly police) and before you doubt this I have had to give evidence a few times already.

That's simple to get round. When the insurers ask: "Does the car have an immobiliser fitted?" Answer: No.

How much more insurance are you going to have to pay for having a car modified from standard having the immobiliser disabled - easier to swop the transponder over or probably cheaper to pay fiat for the key
