Fiat Punto SX T Reg 5 Door manual

Whenever I touch my cluth pedal slightly it gives out a very squeaky sound as though theres a fan belt thing that is in desperate need of oiling !
When you push the cluth down to engage it the noise dissapears and the car drives absiolutely fine.

Sound doesn't seem be there when cold but after it has warmed up its there as soon as you touch the clutch pedal.

Watch this one, the problem is 99% certain to be the release bearing the standard fiat ones are total crap with a service life of as little as 29,000 miles.
Get the clutch assembly replaced asap as the failing bearing can wear away the spring fingers on the pressure plate which can lead to sudden failure, usually in the dark when its raining and your mobile phone battery is flat!
I would also ensure that a good quality clutch kit is refitted pref. german.

i have the same problem on my fiat bravo, i only bought the car a month ago and the clutch makes a sqeaky noise when fully depressed. i have the car booked in for monday to be sorted. tomorrow im going on a long distance journey, would it be safe to take the car or is it likely to go on me? one user said it could take up to a year to go, ive also noticed its hard to get the car into gear occasionally, does this mean its on its last legs?

i would be greatful of a quick reply to this! cheers
daniel
