My wipers are juddering so i found this guide and had a little read.

2 things i need to know:

has anyone got a pic of the missing image?

where would i get electrically conductive grease?

(i know people will say that i should be posting this is a comment on the actual guide but no1 replies to them for ages.)

I do!! lol

Didnt realise there was a missing pic, will have a look now. Conductive grease you can get from places like halfords. If yours has been over greased, the you can just clean most of it off and leave whats there.

EDIT: The photo is supposed to show the inside of the wiper motor assembly. Its on my computer at home so i can't upload it again at the mo, but to be honest its nothing important, as if you follow the rest of the guide it will be self explanitory when its apart. Two little metal pins are attched to rear of the lottle plate you take off, and the you will see in the motor assembly itself 2 metal rings. The pins make contact with these rings, and this is where the problem is, due to corrosion and over greeasing, the electrical contact between the pins and the rings is not good, hence the reason you get the juddering and sparking noise.

Ill upload the pic tonight.... so if you want to wait till then, if not ill be on here most of today, so just post here or PM me if you have any questions.

Im going to follow this guide to fix the juddering wipers on my Punto, but
the trouble is I can't seem to find a grease that is electronically conductive.
I've looked on the Halfords website and Maplin but had no joy... Could anyone
perhaps link me to what I need to buy? It seems this grease is as rare as hen's
teeth :chin: lol !

i had the same problem:confused:

Daz_Rich the linkage only serves the motor so the issue is
with the motor (in this case with the electrical contacts).
I had my wiper linkage break at one time and got it fixed
but the wipers were juddering even before that happened.
The guide talks about Juddering on the intermittent setting
with a 'sparking' noise and this is exactly what is happening
to me. Alan here seems to know his stuff but we are waiting
to find out where to get this grease from to do the job right.
Maybe Alan can sell us some Mikeee? :)

Hello,

Most bog standard Lithium based greases will be conductive. For example Castrol LM grease I believe its called. You only need a small smearing on the contacts.
