3 things i will mention - if you cant be bothered to fight geting to the bolts because you have only spanners for example, you can remove the coil pack holder (3 bolts) to give MUCH better access for cleaning as well

Fantastic clean mating surface on the engine block, this is how it needs to be to ensure a tight seal

Dont Forget to topup and then bleed the coolant

I do like a good couple of pieces of gasket paper Handy for when seals bust

You can however just use gasket goo - and then mate the 2, but i like you much prefer a much fatter seal made by the paper and goo to ensure it can be squished down and ensure a 100% seal
