basically for a while my brakes were squeaking, so the mechanic at my work changed the pads for me, but now the squeaking has come back, the pads have only done 1k, so I checked the fluid, which is quite low, could this be the problem with the squeaking??? Also, I wanted to double check before I put the fluid in, I looked at the diagram in the cars manual, and it says that the brake fluid resorvoir is in the middle of the engine, but mines seems to be just under the drivers window, in the book there is nothing there??? Is this def the brake fluid resorvoir...?? (1.28v)

thanks again

I will try that mate, thanks!!! p.s is the white resorvoir the brake luid thought, because it still needs topping up

I'm a 02 Punto Sporting MK2 and mines just under the Drivers Window... So yea thats yours.

If in doubt once ya take off the lid you should see like a little filter bucket made of white netting that filters the fluid so no dirt gets in.

Its under the drivers window in all MK2 Puntos i've seen anyway.

It usually has a rubber button thing on top that you can push on to check the level. Generally none of the other fluid reservoirs have this.
One a mark 1 it is on the left side of the engine bay as you look at the car...white bottle with ornage pusher thing on the cap.

It printed on the cap of the bottle and yes copper grease on the rear of the pads will stop the pads vibrating in the pad carrier but dont get any on the front of the pad.,.
If your fluid is low after having your breaks done id check the clutch slave cylinder to see if any fluid if leaking from there, also turn the wheels full lock both ways and check the break lines for any leaks.,.,.

agree with above, but make sure the coppergrease is used very sparingly and only placed on the saddle carriers(what the pads sit on).if you put it on the hub or it touches the hub even, centrifugal force will pull it from the hub onto the pads, scrapping them

personal opinion, scratch the carriers where they contact the new pads until all the dust and rust is gone and avoid the coppergrease,if noise remains then smear only a trace of coppergrease on and dont get carried away.if it touches the disks they will overheat in use causing warping
