hello all, does anyone know how to change the lock barrels on the doors, boot, ignition and petrol cap. Plus is it possible for me to do the work my self?

Kind Regards

Door locks, remove door cards remove clip holding the locks inplace inside the door and pull the lock out from the door.

Boot, open tailgate remove inner trim panel remove two bolts and pull lock out of position.

Ahh sweet cheers that all sounds easy then next thing to do is the ignition i supose i bet thats going to be a bitch to change the barrel in. Petrol cap is not an emergency but it would be nice to have one i can lock as i can just imagine next time the pikeys turn up at the local field they will all be running their mini motos and gopeds off my fuel.

Ah ha that sounds good also how much do you think i should pay a scrapy for all theese parts?

Yea ive got the ignition key for the current lock is the release button that little black button located towards the bottom of the outside of the keyhole.

No, remove the plastic shroud around the steering column and locate the aperture in the shaft which contains the lock. Switch key to MAR, press the locking pawl in and lever the lock out from the same aperture. Its less complicated than my description.

Fair enuff i shall give this a try when my new lock barrels arrive, btw a quick question the lock barrels on shop4parts.co.uk show the locks and some keys none of the keys look like a red one so i am wondering if i took a new key from the lock set to timpsons with my old redkey could they make a new redkey with the information from my old one? i ask this as it seems the set does not come with a red key well from what the picture illustrates anyway.

I've looked up that site and I can only see individual door locks with no transponder key, so have you bought 3 seperate locks only?, cos that means 3 keys + 1 for ignition. What is the reason for changing locks, are they worn badly?.

The reason im chaning the locks is beacuse firstly the drivers door has a seprate key beacuse the locks were changed and secondly the petrol cap dosent lock beacuse i dont have the key for it. So my plan is to get a new lock set and move the RFID chip from my redkey to the one that comes with the lockset. I got quoted £59.95 for a full lockset from a online scrap yard search engine. Do you think that is reasonable?

some idiots broke into my car and nacked the lock barrel. just gona get it delocked cos its working cheaper for me tht way
